Privacy Policy
The short version: the Team-X desktop app collects and transmits nothing about you. The only personal data collected anywhere is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter. The long version is below. Effective 2026-07-12.
1. The short version
Team-X is a local-first desktop application. It collects no analytics, no telemetry, and no usage data, and it does not transmit anything about you or your work to us or to anyone else. The single exception, across the app and this website combined, is the email address you give us if you subscribe to the Field Notes newsletter. That is it.
2. The desktop app does not phone home
The app has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no automatic update checks. The only network traffic the app makes is to the AI providers you configure, plus an explicit, user-triggered check of the GitHub releases page when you ask it to look for updates. Nothing runs in the background to report on you.
3. Your secrets and your data stay on your machine
Your provider API keys are stored in your operating system's keychain (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or the Linux Secret Service) through keytar, never in plaintext files. All of your workspace data lives in a local SQLite database and a filesystem vault on your computer. We never receive it, because it never leaves your machine unless you choose to move it.
4. Third-party AI providers
When you configure a cloud provider (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter, Together, or Fireworks), the prompts and context your agents send go directly to that provider under your own account and are governed by that provider's privacy policy, not this one. If you set an agent to the Local privacy tier and run through Ollama, that agent's work stays entirely on your device.
5. What the newsletter collects
If you subscribe to Field Notes, we collect your email address, a short source label recording which page the subscription came from, and a one-way, HMAC-hashed fingerprint of your IP address and browser user-agent used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP address or your raw user-agent.
6. Where newsletter data is stored, and who processes it
Newsletter data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database, which is our system of record. There is no third-party marketing CRM. Cloudflare provides the hosting, database, and rate-limiting infrastructure, and Resend delivers the emails. These are our only sub-processors for the newsletter, and each processes your data solely to operate it.
7. Our lawful basis is your consent
We send you the newsletter because you asked us to. Subscription uses double opt-in: after you submit your address, we email you a confirmation link, and we only add you to the list once you confirm. We do not send you anything before that.
8. No tracking
The newsletter contains no tracking pixels and no open or click measurement. We deliberately discard the open and click events that our email provider can generate. Links in our emails point directly to their real destination; we do not wrap them in redirect trackers.
9. Unsubscribing and your choices
Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link and supports the one-click unsubscribe standard (RFC 8058) that your mail client's built-in button uses. Unsubscribing stops all mail immediately and retains only a minimal suppression record so we do not accidentally email you again. To have your record deleted entirely, email [email protected] and we will remove it.
10. We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other data. We do not share it with anyone beyond the sub-processors named above, and we do not use it for anything other than sending you Field Notes.
11. This website
The team-x.app website uses no third-party analytics and no advertising or tracking scripts. The only measurement is the aggregate, server-side traffic count that our host, Cloudflare Pages, produces automatically. The site stores a small preference in your browser for your consent choice and your light or dark theme; nothing about you is sent to a third party.
12. GitHub
Team-X is developed in the open on GitHub. If you file an issue, open a discussion, or star the repository, those interactions happen on GitHub and are governed by GitHub's own privacy policy, not this one.
13. Contact
For any privacy question or request, reach us through the project's GitHub issues, by email at [email protected], or by mail to Strategia-X, 1614 High Grove Ct, Hughson, CA 95326, United States.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update it here with a new effective date. The current version is effective 2026-07-12.
